The Ghana Innovation Hub had its soft launch on 27th September 2018 at their space in the Accra Digital Center, to build partnerships with the stakeholders in the Ghana entrepreneurial ecosystem before their official opening on the 1st of October 2018.
The Ghana Innovation Hub has been set up under the eTransform project of the Ministry of Communications and is expected to contribute to innovation and digitization of Ghana’s economy. The four pillars of the hub are physical space, business development support, investment matchmaking and ecosystem support.
During the soft launch event, there were introductions of the operational team, the advisory board and the consortium members. Furthermore, the service offer and governance structure of the hub was presented and it was stressed that the hub is actively looking for strategic partnerships. The Hub will, next to offering a physical space, support businesses in the ideation, incubation and acceleration stages. Stakeholders were invited to contribute their thoughts on innovation in Ghana and how the hub can support growing businesses.
Stakeholders were given free vouchers for a free day in the hub’s co-working space. Between the 1st and the 5th of October, the hub is offering entrepreneurs a range of afternoon workshops on business models, designing a value proposition, marketing, impact and partnerships. A formal launch will follow in 2019, but well as the hub’s incubation program and other activities will be advertised on the website www.ghanainnovationhub.com and the social media channels.
Interested partners and investors can reach out to discuss ways of collaboration with the hub and entrepreneurs can make use of our co-working space or private offices as of October 1st.
